January 18, 2015, 9:53 pm I actually called this number back and they told they were with "Convergent Outsourcing" and that they were a financial institution. They asked for a person by name and I told them that person wasn't at this number and they said they would remove my number from their list. February 11, 2015, 1:41 am Very suspicious call trying to ask for or verify personal information. If they are debt collection agency they should already know this information if they are legit. Otherwise it's a shady attempt to get more information from you that can be used against you for more serious debt collection attempts or to threaten you with bad credit reports status until you pay them. Could also be phisher, but I think this kind of sneaky one sided info gathering technique is for lowest type of dent collectors who are desperate for anything to hit you with.
