January 22, 2014, 9:17 pm Portfolio recovery associates. If you tell that you won't pay they start to get very rude with you. In my case the calls are regarding Bank of America and they say I owe debt from 2006. I don't know what dent this is. I think this company buys up junk debt or has purchased already paid debt for pennies on the dollar and then uses fear tactics and high pressure methods hoping to extract a profit. February 9, 2015, 4:04 am This is a debt collection agency called 'Portfolio Recovery Associates" and they were trying to get personal information out of me without telling me much about them or the debt. Finally slipped out that I had credit card debt from 6 years ago. As soon as they said this they revealed to me that they didn't know why they were talking about as I have no credit card debt and certainly haven't gotten any letters about this fake debt they claimed.
