March 22, 2013, 9:57 am These people are a joke. A collections agency with no teeth whatsoever and big scare tactics. They buy up junk debt that is often past the statute of limitations and then scare people as hard as they can into paying it. If they were going to sue you they would already. The phone calls are cheaper then sending letters, hiring lawyers, or going to court which is why you should just ignore them like it was a joke. If they buy the debt for pennies on the dollar then any payments will equal huge profits for them so it's worth their time breaking the law to test naive or stupid people into paying the debts. When it comes to debt collectors calls and letters are usually a sign that they denbt is already written off and they are totally weak. Unless you get sued it's not serious and easy to never pay. June 9, 2015, 11:30 am This was a debt collection call, the fourth one I've had from this specific caller. They are CBV a debt collection agency calling on behalf of Telus for an old cellphone bills which I have refused to pay to due to dishonest representation when I was a customer. July 14, 2015, 4:52 am Another debt collection call from CBV Collections. This is a really obnoxious caller. They are calling about a cellphone bill where I was double billed by Telus on a very long contract. I refused to pay the bill as it was obviously double billed. April 6, 2017, 4:13 pm CBV has had government action taken against them in many cases across Canada for trying to collect on debts that have exceeded the limitations to collect.
