August 25, 2013, 1:22 pm (888) 283-5420 On Aug 22, My mother got a call from people who said that they were a civil investigation unit looking for me to settle the debt with an old credit card. They gave her this number and a case number. They asked her to call me and relay the information, And would not give her any other information. When I called they told me they were trying to collect on an old credit card to the tune of $2651. Yet on the credit report I looked up earlier this year, my credit report says that I owe $1054. Also if you call them and their lines are busy, or Saturday or Sunday, it goes to a very robotic voice mail with no information about office hours or the name of the company. Also, most credit collections agencies will come up with a lower value for you to settle for, these people were not willing to settle for anything lower than the amount that they said. They told me that if I did not pay within the next couple days that I would receive the summons and be taken to court and be charged with felony fraud. October 28, 2014, 6:05 am Caller claims to be the "Civil Investigation Unit" and told me that I have a restraining order against me and that papers will be served soon. Wants you arrange payments before the issue has to be brought to court. The woman wasn't sure if ti was for a mortgage or car loan. Wanted lots of personal information. I don't trust it. February 11, 2015, 1:47 am These people are claiming that civil action is going to be taken against me for unpaid debts. Said I owed over $3500 and could easy settle out of court for for $450. I am filing a complaint with the attorney general's office for this number and company. They have refused to send me any documentation and keep threatening me with legal action if I don't pay them upfront immediately with no documents. I'm hoping for a restraining order I can get one.
